Asalamalaykum everyone & Ramadan Mubarak 🌙✨

This Ramadan carries a deep emotional weight for our family as we navigate our first blessed month without our beloved mother, Gulshan Iqbal, who returned to her Creator in January 2026. It has also been 17 years since we lost our dear father, Shahbaz Iqbal. Their love, sacrifices, and the values they instilled in us continue to shape who we are every day.

To honour their beautiful lives and the endless love they gave us, we are raising funds this Ramadan to build a masjid in both of our parents’ names. This masjid will provide a much-needed place of worship for communities in need and serve as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity) for them both. It is our deepest prayer that every salah performed, every Qur’an recited, and every heart guided within this masjid becomes a continuous source of reward for them in the hereafter, inshaAllah.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us:

“When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.”

(Muslim)

About the Masjid

The masjid, once completed, will serve as a central place of worship and community benefit. It will include:

• A dedicated prayer space for both men and women, ensuring inclusivity for the entire community

• A wudu (ablution) area to facilitate proper preparation for prayer

• A space that will host the five daily prayers as well as Jumu’ah (Friday) congregational prayers

• Facilities for Islamic classes and learning circles, allowing children and adults to deepen their understanding of their deen

• Community programmes that will support spiritual growth, education, and unity among local families

InshaAllah, this masjid will become the main local mosque, benefiting generations to come and acting as a centre of worship, knowledge, and guidance for the surrounding community.
